Diagnostic Equipment

From treating headaches and shoulder tension to precise mapping of a patient’s cornea, our optometrists at Jackman Eye Austin are equipped with excellent diagnostic and imaging technology to provide the best possible eyecare for our patients. Our diagnostic equipment includes the nerolens, Optical Coherence Tomography, Daytona Optomap, Medmont Topography, ICARE Tonometer, and Humphrey Visual Field—read a brief description of each of these below!

Neurolens

The neurolens’ contoured prism technology enables our doctors to relieve binocular misalignment resulting in relief from headaches, neck and shoulder tension, and discomfort with computer use.

Optical coherence tomography

Optical Coherence Tomography is a noninvasive imaging technology used to obtain cross-sectional, high-resolution images of the retina using light waves. We use these scans to diagnose and monitor diseases of the retina, most commonly glaucoma and macular degeneration.

Daytona Optomap

Daytona Optomap is an ultra-widefield retinal imaging technology that provides high-resolution imaging that can capture a 200 degree view of the retina. Our patients love having an alternative to dilation that can detect vision and life threatening disease.

Medmont Topography

The Medmont offers extreme accuracy for the mapping of a patient’s cornea. This allows us to design custom Orthokeratology and Scleral lenses.

Icare Tonometer

The ICARE Tonometer measures a patient’s intraocular pressure quickly and efficiently. No more puff of air!

Humphrey Visual Field

The Humphrey Visual Field is a tool for measuring the monocular visual field that provides a comprehensive assessment.
