Yearly eye exams
At Jackman Eye we believe yearly eye exams are essential to maintaining optimal vision and eye health. We strive to prevent eye disease and save sight. During an annual exam we will evaluate and update your prescriptions and discuss the type of lenses that you may benefit from the most. We will then use digital imaging as well as our own eyes to make sure your eyes are healthy. We will then discuss treatment options and follow up care.
Vision threatening disease care
There are many ocular and systemic diseases that can harm our vision. The most significant are glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes and high blood pressure. Because the retina has no pain receptors, often times these conditions go untreated. Jackman Eye’s advanced ocular imaging technology allows our doctors to prevent changes in vision before they occur. Our doctors will discuss nutrition and habits that are important for preventative care.
Surgical co-management
Are you interested in LASIK or ready for cataract surgery? Our doctors will provide you with their unbiased professional opinion on whether a surgical procedure is right for you. We also will provide pre and post-operative care and referrals to the appropriate surgeons.
Eye emergencies
We see eye emergencies same day. Please call our office right away if you feel you may have an eye emergency. Signs of an eye emergency may include: pain, light sensitivity, flashes, new floating spots or loss of vision.
Contact lens design and fitting
We use advanced technology to prescribe the best contact lens option for your unique needs. We prescribe soft contacts, toric contacts, multifocal, scleral, gas permeable and hybrid lenses. Our doctors have a special interest in difficult to fit cases especially in those patients that have keratoconus, dry eyes, and post surgical corneas.
Eyeglass selection
Our opticians are trained to make the eyeglass selecting process fun and stress- free. Unlike many optical shops, our opticians do not work on commission and enjoy helping you see well and look your best. Use our virtual try on to find your favorite styles.
Frame adjustment and repair
Over time it is normal for our glasses to get out of perfect alignment. Our opticians can make sure your frames fit comfortably and keep you looking through the right part of your lenses. Most repairs can be done same day in our office.
